o What are the branches of government and what are their responsibilities?
o How are members elected/appointed to those branches of government?
o Why do we need political parties and how do their platforms differ?
o What role does the media play?
o What are lobby groups and why are they important?
o How are laws passed?

Inquiry Project for Unit 1
Here is your inquiry project for this unit. The best way to understand how a government works is to actually become one yourself and take on a role in it. Don't worry you won't actually have to make any real laws, or effect any real peoples lives. However, by the end of the unit you will have a greater understanding of what a government does and why it is important for a nation to have a functional one.
